An international contemporary circus festival, «Re Rīga!», has begun this week in Riga, with performances taking place both inside the Riga Circus building and at outdoor venues across the city.

This year's program is notably international in scope, bringing together more than 40 performers from 11 countries. The festival's central theme for this edition is Flemish contemporary circus art, which shapes much of this year's artistic focus.

Audiences can catch performances at several locations, including the Riga Circus itself, Vērmanes Garden and Uzvaras Park. By combining a traditional circus venue with open public spaces, the festival allows visitors to experience contemporary circus in a variety of settings and formats.

The program includes aerial acrobatics as well as performances built around direct interaction with the audience, including moments of physical contact between performers and spectators, such as handshakes. The festival runs over several days, giving Riga residents and visitors a chance to explore the diversity of contemporary circus on an international scale.
