Elis Tekstila Serviss to build new carpet-washing plant in Riga for €3 million

Textile rental and service company Elis Tekstila Serviss plans to build a new carpet-washing plant on Bukaišu Street in Riga, at a cost of about €3 million. The company offers replaceable carpet and workwear services, and the new facility is intended to significantly increase its carpet-processing capacity. Construction and commissioning are scheduled for completion in November 2027.

Plans for the plant

The new plant will cover roughly 2,000 square metres. It will house washing and drying equipment that is more efficient in water and energy use. According to the company, the modernisation of its processes will cut resource consumption by 23% per square metre of carpet processed and lay the groundwork for further growth.

Until now, the company's carpet-cleaning infrastructure has been developed at Bukaišu Street 9. The new construction there continues the company's investment in this line of services.

Company history and operations

The company's roots in Latvia go back to 1994, when Emblēmu paklāju serviss was founded. In 2013 it became Berendsen Tekstila Serviss, and in September 2017 it joined the international Elis group. It has operated under its current name since 1 October 2019.

Earlier, in 2021, the company bought a workwear plant in Salaspils. The deal included the plant, its technical equipment, and a workwear and laundry rental business, which expanded its workwear service capabilities.

Besides carpet and workwear services, the company provides hygiene equipment rental and pest control. Its model covers delivery, collection, professional washing and reuse of items.

In 2025, Elis Tekstila Serviss had a turnover of €19.186 million and a profit of €3.719 million.
