Riga Opens New Rehabilitation Centre for Children with ADHD
A new social rehabilitation centre for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder has opened in Riga. The programme targets pupils aged six to nine attending grades 1-3 at the capital's municipal schools.
A new social rehabilitation centre for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has opened in Riga, according to information shared on the LSM programme "Obsudim vecherom".
The programme is designed for children aged six to nine who attend grades 1 through 3 at municipal schools in the Latvian capital.
A school-like learning environment
The centre operates in conditions similar to a school setting. There, children will learn to regulate their emotions, cooperate with others, and organize their own work. At the same time, they will continue to study regular school material.
This approach combines the development of social skills with support for the learning process, which can be particularly important for children whose ADHD makes it difficult to concentrate and manage behaviour in a typical classroom setting.
