Latvian rapper ansis has spoken about the creative process behind his album «222» in an episode of the Latvian Radio 5 programme «Izstāsti albumu» («Tell the Album's Story»). The album has been nominated for the «Austras balva» music award.

Ansis explained that he does not see «222» as a simple collection of songs, but rather as something akin to a feature film, with each track functioning as a scene within a larger narrative. According to the musician, the songs are arranged in a deliberate sequence, and if a track is taken out of that context and listened to on its own, it loses part of its meaning.

During the programme, ansis also reflected on his broader creative process. He admitted that while working on each new album, he often feels it might be his last. However, once an album is finished, he experiences the opposite feeling — describing himself as becoming "fertile ground for a new mission," suggesting that fresh creative ideas and projects tend to emerge right after completing previous work.

About the programme
