Recipe Plus to invest up to €20 million in new pharmaceutical logistics centre in Riga

Latvian-owned pharmaceutical supply company AS Recipe Plus is building one of the most advanced pharmaceutical goods logistics centres in the Baltics in Riga, with investment reaching up to €20 million. The project aims to expand the company's logistics capacity and strengthen medicine supply resilience during crisis situations.

AS Recipe Plus, a Latvian-owned pharmaceutical supply company, is carrying out a construction project in Riga aimed at creating one of the most modern pharmaceutical goods logistics centres in the entire Baltic region. Investment in the project could reach up to €20 million.

Expanding capacity

The new logistics centre will allow the company to significantly increase its capacity for handling and storing medicines and other pharmaceutical goods. Greater logistics capacity means the company will be able to serve its existing partners more efficiently and adapt to growing demand for pharmaceutical deliveries.

Relevance to healthcare resilience

The project is not only about expanding the company's commercial operations — it is also linked to the broader goal of strengthening the resilience of Latvia's healthcare system. A modernised, higher-capacity logistics infrastructure would help ensure uninterrupted medicine supply even in cases of supply chain disruptions or crisis situations, when access to medication for the population becomes especially critical.

Investment of this scale in infrastructure reflects the private sector's willingness to commit to long-term solutions affecting public health security. The involvement of a locally owned company in this area is highlighted as an important factor, as it helps ensure control and availability of the medicine supply chain specifically for the Latvian and Baltic markets.
