Prime Day Discounts on Shark Vacuums: A Cordless Stick and a Robot Model

On the last day of Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days, a Wired reviewer is highlighting Shark's vacuum offers. In her view, they are a good alternative to the discounted Dyson models for shoppers who want to spend less and still get a powerful machine. Not every Shark model is on sale, but two are available at reduced prices.

Shark PowerDetect cordless stick vacuum

The cordless stick model costs $300, a 28% discount. The reviewer says the newer Shark PowerDetect Speed is currently her favorite stick vacuum, but the older PowerDetect is close behind, with more power and a larger dustbin. Because the Speed is not on sale, she considers the older model the better buy during Prime Day.

In tests earlier this year, this vacuum reportedly performed best against her favorite Dyson and Bosch's new vacuum. It can bend in the middle, which makes it easier to reach under furniture. The Clean & Empty version, which includes a charging, self-emptying base station, is also discounted. The reviewer recommends it, as she often loses the charging cords for her vacuums.

Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal robot

The PowerDetect UV Reveal robot vacuum costs $750, a 42% discount. The reviewer calls it the best robot vacuum she has tried. It uses a UV light to spot stains on the floor, and when it finds one, it goes back to clean it. On the ground floor of her home, which is almost entirely hard flooring, it even found stains made months earlier that had apparently never been cleaned properly.

This model is usually on some kind of sale, but the current price is the lowest one typically sees, making it a good time to buy.

Prime Big Deal Days end today, so time to take advantage of the discounts is running out.
