Pretorius smashes Gayle's T20 world record with unbeaten 188
South African batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius set a new record for the highest individual score in men's T20 cricket, scoring an unbeaten 188. The innings surpassed the mark previously held by Chris Gayle since 2013.

South African domestic cricket produced a historic individual performance as Lhuan-dre Pretorius scored an unbeaten 188 runs off just 79 deliveries, setting a new record for the highest score ever recorded in a men's T20 match.
The previous benchmark, 175 runs, was set by Chris Gayle in 2013 while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Bengaluru) against Pune Warriors in the Indian Premier League.
The 20-year-old reached his milestone innings with 13 sixes and 15 fours, finishing with a strike rate of 237.97. He raced to his half-century in just 24 balls, then needed only 16 more deliveries to pass a hundred, before reaching 150 off 58 balls.
Pretorius's innings powered his team, the Titans, to a total of 267 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their 20 overs against the Knights at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein, in the CSA T20 Challenge. In response, the Knights were bowled out for just 143 runs in 17.2 overs.
The Titans secured a commanding 124-run victory. Pretorius, who already has international experience, has represented South Africa in 17 T20 matches, three one-day internationals and two Test matches.
