Police remind: helmets mandatory for cyclists under 17

Under the rules, wearing a helmet is mandatory for all cyclists and scooter riders under the age of 17. Police stress that this requirement applies both to bicycles and scooters, and they are urging parents to remind their children of this obligation.
A cycling license required from age 10
Police also highlighted a lesser-known requirement: children who ride a bicycle on the road independently, without adult supervision, must hold a cycling license starting at age 10. Many parents are unaware of this rule, so police are encouraging families to pay attention to it.
The State Police says it will continue to regularly check whether road users, including cyclists and scooter riders, are complying with safety requirements in order to reduce the risk of accidents on the roads.
