Wind to pick up and rain expected across Latvia on Monday
The new week in Latvia opens with autumnal weather — wind strengthens and rain is expected in many areas on Monday, while the coming weekend looks set to be the coldest since spring.

Latvia has entered a new week marked by distinctly autumnal weather, as cyclones increasingly shape conditions across the country. On Monday, October 5, skies will be mostly cloudy, with light rain forecast in much of the country and heavier showers possible in some areas at times.
Wind and temperature
During the day, west and southwest winds will blow, with gusts in places reaching 15–20 meters per second. Overnight and in the early morning, air temperatures across most of the country will hover around +7 to +12 degrees, rising during the day to roughly +12–16 degrees. In Riga, temperatures of around +10–14 degrees are expected, with a chance of light rain during the day.
Outlook for coming days
Forecasters say unsettled weather will continue in Latvia beyond Monday. Tuesday should bring a one- to two-degree warm-up, but as the week progresses, cyclones are expected to bring further bouts of rain and gusty wind. Current forecasts suggest the upcoming weekend will be the coldest Latvia has seen since spring.
