According to Fotbollskanalen, a double substitution came in the 77th minute — Viktor Gyökeres was replaced by Benjamin Nygren, while Alexander Bernhardsson was replaced by 24-year-old Patrik Wålemark, who was making his debut for the senior national team. Wålemark currently plays for Poland's Lech Poznań, having previously represented Feyenoord and Häcken, and had already earned 11 caps for Sweden's U21 team before this call-up.
A new chapter under Potter
The match was among the first since this summer's World Cup for Sweden under head coach Graham Potter. After a tournament in which the team, according to the sources, lost 0-3 to France, Potter's main task is to build a clear and stable playing model. Players including Alexander Isak and Hjalmar Ekdal emphasize that the team's priority is a more stable defense and clear, quickly implementable playing principles. Ekdal notes that it benefits the national team to stick to a simpler playing idea, since players train together only rarely. A contrast with Romania's approach
Romania are coached by legendary Gheorghe Hagi, who, as Aftonbladet writes, represents a unique case in modern football — he first shaped players by founding his own football academy near the Bulgarian border in 2009, and only afterwards became the national team's coach. The academy produces 40-50 players for Romania's national teams every year, and nine members of the current senior squad came through it.

Group B4 of the Nations League also includes Poland and Bosnia and Herzegovina alongside Sweden and Romania. After the match against Romania, Sweden face Poland, also in Stockholm.
