Paris des Arts heads to Geneva to meet two resident artists

This week, the programme Paris des Arts moves its focus to Geneva, the cosmopolitan Swiss city set between the lake and the Jura mountains. Journalist Valérie Fayolle travels there to meet two artists who have made the city their home.

A chef driven by music

The first guest is young chef Danny Khezzar, who leads the kitchen team at the Michelin-starred restaurant Bayview. He was a finalist on "Top Chef" in 2014. Khezzar explains that music and cooking are the two great passions in his life, saying both begin with a blank canvas that allows for complete creative freedom — which is exactly what draws him to each of them.

A painter who speaks out through art

The segment then moves to the studio of Senegalese-born painter Omar Ba, who has lived in Geneva for more than two decades. Ba uses beauty in his canvases as a way to confront the world's injustice and violence. He describes painting as a means of expressing a point of view on everything happening around him.

A stroll through the Old Town

The episode closes with a recommended walk through Geneva's Old Town, where winding medieval streets lead to landmarks connected to the pivotal Reformation period.
