Second Nighttime Air Alert in Ukraine: MiG-31K Takeoff Sparks Missile Threat

On the night of June 21, a second air alert was declared across all of Ukraine due to the takeoff of a Russian MiG-31K aircraft. This was confirmed by regional military administrations, the air alert map, and the Air Force.
Missile Danger
The Air Force stated the alert was issued because of a missile threat following the MiG-31K's takeoff. Reports indicated a Kinzhal hypersonic missile heading toward Chernihiv Oblast and then Kyiv Oblast. Later, the missile passed through Kyiv Oblast toward Zhytomyr and continued toward Khmelnytskyi Oblast (Starokostiantyniv direction). Another high-speed target flew toward Chernihiv Oblast and then toward Kyiv Oblast.
All Clear
At 4:03 AM, regions began canceling the air alert. The Air Force announced at 4:09 AM: “The danger from the MiG-31K is over.” Earlier that night, around 1:00 AM, the first air alert had been declared, also triggered by a MiG-31K takeoff.
