OpenAI loses its second top executive this week
OpenAI's chief revenue officer Denise Dresser announced she will leave the company in the coming weeks, days after former COO Brad Lightcap said he was departing too. Wiz president and COO Dali Rajic will replace her.
OpenAI is undergoing another leadership shake-up, as chief revenue officer Denise Dresser said she will step down in the coming weeks to pursue other opportunities. She shared the news in a note to her team posted on LinkedIn.
Dresser joined OpenAI in December after previously serving as CEO of Slack. She will be succeeded as CRO by Dali Rajic, currently president and COO of security company Wiz.
A string of exits
Dresser's announcement comes just days after special projects lead and former COO Brad Lightcap said he would also be leaving OpenAI. Dresser had taken on some of Lightcap's responsibilities when he shifted into his special projects role. The company has also recently seen the departures of former AGI chief Fidji Simo and former chief marketing officer Kate Rouch.
In its statement, OpenAI said it has reached an inflection point, with the next generation of AI models expected to change not only how work gets done but how companies themselves are built and run. The company said Rajic's task will be to build the revenue operating system needed to scale for this next phase.
Dresser's exit also comes ahead of OpenAI's planned initial public offering; the company said in June that it had submitted a confidential S-1 filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
