Ogre District Hospital, in the town of Ogre in Latvia, now has a new optometrist, Evija Gulbinska. An optometrist is a vision care specialist who checks eyesight and selects suitable vision correction. The service is available to local residents and hospital patients.

Experience and approach

Gulbinska has in-depth knowledge of vision correction of various types and complexity, double vision, binocular vision disorders and visual ergonomics. She sees both adults and children from the age of 7. Since 2012 she has been a member of the Latvian Association of Optometrists and Opticians (LOOA).

Her core working principles are an individual approach to every patient, careful assessment of visual functions, and choosing the most suitable vision correction solution for each person. She also pays attention to vision prevention, ergonomics and healthy everyday visual habits.

When to see an optometrist

The hospital says a consultation is advisable if:

  • vision has become blurry up close and/or at a distance;
  • eyes feel tired or uncomfortable after reading, computer work or other prolonged visual strain;
  • you notice temporary or persistent double vision;
  • headaches appear after visual strain;
  • your current vision correction needs checking or you need new glasses;
  • you want a preventive eye check and advice on ergonomics and daily habits.

The hospital notes that timely prevention and good everyday habits help protect eye health in the long term.

How to book

Appointments can be made by calling the reception on 22307203, or online at piearsta.lv by choosing a consultation with Evija Gulbinska.
