Norway Allocates Over €9 Million for Repair of Chornobyl Protective Sarcophagus
Norway has provided more than €9 million to repair the protective sarcophagus at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which was damaged by a Russian drone.

Norway has announced an allocation of more than €9 million for the repair of the protective sarcophagus over the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The decision follows damage caused by a Russian drone to the structure that safeguards the destroyed reactor.
The sarcophagus is critical for preventing the release of radioactive particles into the environment. Norwegian funds will be used to fix the damage and reinforce the structure, ensuring its continued safety.
This step is part of international efforts to support Ukraine in nuclear security after the Russian invasion. Norway has previously provided aid to Ukraine in various sectors, including energy and security.
