Emmanuil Britvenko, originally from the village of Tsyrkuny in Ukraine's Kharkiv region, has built a notable career in Latvia in a relatively short time. Just over a year after arriving, he worked his way up to become warehouse manager at one of the country's largest retailers of phones and electronics.

A new challenge in hospitality

He later decided to change direction, taking over management of a restaurant that was operating at a loss. Within less than a year, he managed to turn the business around, and it has continued to grow successfully under his leadership since.

Emmanuil's experience illustrates how newcomers from Ukraine have been able not only to find employment in Latvia but also to take on significant managerial responsibilities and deliver measurable results in a short period. He has also spoken of a personal aspiration to eventually get involved in helping homeless people, reflecting a wish to give back to the community that has taken him in.
