French emergency services are struggling to contain a large forest fire that has broken out in the Fontainebleau forest, located only 60 kilometers south of Paris. The forest, often called the “large lungs of Paris,” plays a key role in the region's ecology. The flames have already consumed approximately 800 hectares of woodland. Some 500 firefighters are on the scene, supported by aircraft and helicopters conducting aerial water drops. The hot weather in the area has contributed to the fire's rapid spread. Authorities are working tirelessly to prevent the fire from advancing further.
