Not Only in Sicily Can You Buy a House for One Euro
Several countries offer houses for one euro to attract new residents. Latvian Ivars recently purchased such a house in Sicily.

In recent years, various countries have been offering real estate at bargain prices, sometimes even for one euro. These programs aim to attract new residents who can restore old, vacant homes and give them a new lease on life.
A recent example is Latvian Ivars, who bought a house in Sicily, Italy, for one euro. It took about a year from handling the paperwork to starting renovations. He now owns a two-story house of 48 square meters in the old town.
However, Italy is not the only country with such one-euro house initiatives. Similar programs exist elsewhere in the world, designed to revitalize sparsely populated areas and preserve historical buildings.
