NATO allies to meet over drone attacks on shipping in the Black Sea
NATO members will hold a meeting to discuss how to respond to drone attacks on commercial vessels in the Black Sea. Romanian President Nicușor Dan says it is too early to say for certain whether Russia is responsible.

Members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will convene to discuss how to respond to a series of drone strikes on cargo shipping in the Black Sea, Romanian President Nicușor Dan said in Brussels. Over the past 24 hours, two chemical tankers were hit by air drones in or near Romania's territorial waters.
Dan stressed that it is too early to say with certainty whether Russia was behind the attacks. He spoke on the sidelines of the European Council summit in Brussels, where he held talks with Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.
Meeting of the North Atlantic Council
According to Dan, Rutte expressed the alliance's solidarity. A meeting of the North Atlantic Council (NAC), NATO's decision-making body, will take place, and the whole situation in the Black Sea will be discussed there.
Dan told POLITICO that his conclusion is that all hybrid attacks are aimed at weakening allied support for Ukraine. He added that support for Ukraine will continue.
The source gives no details on who owns the tankers, which flag they sailed under, the extent of the damage or any casualties, so those circumstances remain unclear for now. The date of the meeting has not been specified either.
