Public discussion of Narva's future historic quarter draws just two residents

Narva's town hall hosted a public discussion on the future of the historic quarter on Ryutli Street. The plan envisions restoring the old street network, forming new blocks, and developing public space in this part of the Old Town.
Despite the project's significance for a key area of Narva's historic center, only two city residents attended the public hearing. This was reported on Saturday, September 26, by the ETV+ program "Narva Studio. It Matters to the People."
The next step in the process will be submitting the detailed plan to the city council for approval.
A long process ahead
Narva's chief architect, Peeter Tambu, noted that several stages remain before construction can begin, including architectural competitions, design work, and archaeological research. He said considerable time will pass before the first new buildings appear in the quarter.
At the same time, residents will still have opportunities to influence the future appearance of this part of the Old Town, as chances to participate in the discussion will continue as the project moves forward.
