Foggy night ahead in Latvia, forecasters warn of poor visibility

Visibility across much of Latvia is expected to deteriorate overnight into Thursday, with forecasters predicting dense fog in many areas. Some rain is also possible. Winds will be light or calm, while nighttime temperatures will range from +5 to +10 degrees Celsius, reaching as high as +13 degrees along Kurzeme's western coast.
Thursday's weather
On Thursday, skies will be partly cloudy with brief showers in places. The country's far eastern regions can expect overcast, rainy conditions throughout the day. Winds will be light to moderate from the north or northwest. Daytime temperatures will vary widely, from +11 degrees near the Russian border to +17 degrees in parts of Kurzeme and Zemgale.
Forecast for Riga
No significant precipitation is expected in the capital, though clouds will partly cover the sky. Fog is possible overnight and in the early morning hours in and around the city. Winds will die down at night, with temperatures dropping to +9 degrees in Riga itself and to +5..+8 degrees in the surrounding suburbs. During the day, light to moderate north or northwest winds will blow, and temperatures will rise to +15 degrees.
