Data from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC) show that on Thursday night, minimum air temperatures in many places in central and eastern Latvia did not fall below +20 degrees Celsius. At 5 a.m., readings ranged from +16°C in Madona to +20.9°C in Rēzekne, while Daugavgrīva and Zvejniekciems recorded +21.1°C and +21.4°C respectively.

Forecasters note that cloud cover will gradually increase from the southwest, with brief rain possible in places. Some fog patches may dissolve. A light to moderate south and southwest wind is expected, and air quality will be good to moderate.

Riga also had a tropical night — at 5 a.m. the temperature was +19°C at the airport and +20.4°C in the city centre. The sky was clear, with a southwest wind of 3–5 metres per second.

On Wednesday, maximum temperatures in the LVĢMC observation network ranged from +23.2°C in Kolka to +31.0°C in Staļģene.
