The State Police reported that on Thursday they caught a motorcyclist speeding through a built-up area at 125 kilometres per hour, far exceeding the permitted limit for such zones.

As a result of the violation, the rider was fined €1,400 and had his driving licence revoked for one year.

Police noted that such excessive speeding within populated areas poses a serious danger not only to the driver but also to pedestrians and other road users nearby.
