Final match
The news came just a day after Satterley wrestled at AEW's "All Out" pay-per-view on Saturday at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, near Chicago. He lost a nearly 20-minute match against Andrade El Ídolo, which Bleacher Report describes as a title bout for the AEW National Championship. Australian outlet Nine.com.au reports the same bout as Satterley's career-ending match, dating it to Sunday in Australian Eastern time.
Career
Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 at age 16 on the British independent circuit, according to Bleacher Report. He debuted for New Japan Pro-Wrestling in 2012 and signed with WWE the same year, performing under the name Adrian Neville and later earning the nickname "The Bastard." His high-flying style earned him the moniker "The Man That Gravity Forgot." In WWE, he became a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion, NXT Champion, and two-time Cruiserweight Champion.
After leaving WWE in 2018, Satterley signed with the newly formed AEW in 2019 as one of the promotion's original stars. There he feuded with "Hangman" Adam Page and Kenny Omega, and later joined the Death Triangle and Death Riders factions. According to Bleacher Report and NBC News, he won the AEW World Trios Championship twice — most recently in 2025 alongside Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta — and was the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion in 2022. Nine.com.au instead reports that he held AEW's "International" and Trios titles, possibly referring to the same championship under a different name.

The news prompted an outpouring of tributes from the wrestling community, including from Kyle Fletcher, Will Ospreay, Rhea Ripley, Paige (Saraya), Danhausen, KJ Orso, and veteran Taz, who all praised Satterley's talent and character. AEW extended its condolences to Satterley's family, friends and fans.
