Commander of 154th Mechanized Brigade Found Dead

The Operational Command "South" reported on Sunday that the commander of the 154th Separate Mechanized Brigade, Colonel Volodymyr Kononnikov, was found dead.
In a Facebook statement, the command said that on June 28, Colonel Kononnikov was found without signs of life. The circumstances of the officer's death are being clarified.
According to preliminary information, no signs of violence were detected, but final conclusions will be made based on the investigation results. Law enforcement is conducting initial investigative actions, and an official inquiry has been ordered.
The command stated that it is "fully facilitating the work of law enforcement agencies" and urged media and the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and to respect the privacy of the deceased's family.
Colonel Volodymyr Kononnikov was described as an officer devoted to Ukraine and military service, a responsible commander who cared for his personnel and the needs of his unit.
