Moscow to Build “Palace of Veterans” Rehabilitation Center for Soldiers of the War in Ukraine
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has announced plans for a “Palace of Veterans” rehabilitation center for Russian soldiers who fought in the war against Ukraine. Construction began in January and is due to finish by the end of 2027.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Wednesday, October 22, that the Russian capital will open a rehabilitation center called the “Palace of Veterans” for Russian soldiers who served in the war against Ukraine. It will be set up at the site of the former war veterans social rehabilitation center in central Moscow.
In a Telegram post, Sobyanin said the renovated buildings would form a single complex, which he described as the first of its kind to offer full-fledged infrastructure for the recovery and rehabilitation of veterans.
What the center will offer
The plans include diagnostic equipment, a “walking school,” physical therapy and kinesitherapy halls, a water wellness complex, and spaces for yoga and martial arts. The center is designed for “daytime and short-term” rehabilitation visits. It will also have art therapy workshops, libraries, and music and dance classrooms. Sobyanin did not say how many people the facility could accommodate.
Timeline
The Palace of Veterans will consist of two reconstructed buildings covering 22,000 square meters. Renovation work started in January, and completion is scheduled for the end of 2027.
The nearby Yekaterininsky Park is also being renovated. A family center, sports fields and a refurbished waterfront with a boat station and an amphitheater are set to be finished by late 2026.
