Mārtiņš Egliens joins the panel of a new Latvian celebrity transformation show
Starting October 9, a new show called "Izklausies redzēts" will feature seven well-known Latvian personalities competing in musical transformations, judged by actor Mārtiņš Egliens and SWH radio board chairman Jānis Šipkevics.
A new Latvian television show, "Izklausies redzēts" ("Sounds Familiar"), premieres on October 9, featuring seven well-known personalities competing in musical transformations. Their performances will be judged by two permanent panelists – actor Mārtiņš Egliens and Jānis Šipkevics, chairman of the board of SWH radio – joined each episode by a rotating guest judge.
Participants and format
The lineup includes actress Lelde Dreimane, singer Ieva Sutugova, musician Ralfs Eilands, singer Andris Ērglis, hip-hop artist Krisy, actor Maksims Busels, and musician Elīna Fūrmane, also known as DJ Ella. Each week, contestants must transform into a different musician or band, and they only learn which figure they will portray next at the very end of each episode, through a drawing.
Makeup artists and stylists help build each transformation, while an acting coach and choreographer assist contestants in capturing the mannerisms, movement and stage energy of the artist being portrayed.
Judges and prize
Alongside Egliens and Šipkevics, rotating guest judges will include radio host Sanda Dejus, musician Intars Busulis, singer Samanta Tīna, and others. Contestants themselves will also be able to award bonus points to their favorites.
The main prize is 10,000 euros. No one is eliminated during the season – all seven contestants remain in the competition until the finale, where the three with the highest accumulated points will compete for the win. The winner will donate the prize money to a charitable cause of their choice. Viewers will also be able to take part by voting for their favorite transformations on the "XCredit" website.
