Martins Bilzens, a Latvian climber who suffered severe injuries in a mountain accident on a ridge in Alaska at the end of May, has passed the critical stage and is now in stable condition in a hospital. The information was provided by family spokesperson Anete Bilzena in an interview with Latvijas Radio.

According to her, Bilzens continues to receive intensive medical care, and full recovery will be lengthy—treatment in the United States is expected to last several months. No further details about the specific injuries or treatment plan have been disclosed.

The incident occurred in late May on a mountain ridge in Alaska, resulting in the deaths of three Latvian climbers. Bilzens sustained severe injuries but has now stabilized. However, the road to recovery remains long.

The family representative expressed gratitude to the medical staff and everyone offering support, and asked the public to respect the family's privacy during this difficult time.
