Artist and scenographer Miķelis Mūrnieks spoke to Latvian Radio's program "Monopols" about his first experience designing a stage set for a music event. The work was created for the concert "Reich Phase," which will take place on October 3 and 4 at the "Hanzas Perons" cultural venue.

Thoughts on venue architecture

Mūrnieks explained that while working on the stage design, he thought a great deal about the architecture of venues where such events are held. He noted that such spaces are often referred to as "black boxes" — uniform rooms that look similar everywhere, regardless of location.

Installation to greet visitors in the foyer

The artist revealed that concertgoers will encounter his visual installation even before entering the concert hall itself, as it will be placed in the venue's foyer.
