LSM's «Nu i nedelya» show discusses Latvian-language learning, choosing ministers and the PM's changed rhetoric
LSM's Russian-language weekly review programme discussed how to make learning Latvian more accessible and whether a minister should be a professional or a politician. It also covered changes in the prime minister's rhetoric after the elections.

The Russian-language editorial team of Latvia's public media outlet LSM has published an episode of its weekly review programme «Ну и неделя!» (roughly «What a Week!»), which looks at the week's current issues in Latvia. The programme's title also refers to a deal between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, and to a comparison of Estonia and Latvia.
The guests were LSM journalist Roman Shmelev, Latvian-language teacher Inese Rose and Olga Procevskaya, a project manager at P. Stradiņš University.
Topics discussed
The participants addressed several questions. First, how to make learning Latvian more accessible. Second, whom to entrust with a ministerial portfolio: a professional or a politician. Third, how the prime minister's rhetoric has changed since the elections.
The source text gives no further detail on the participants' views or conclusions. The programme is available as a video on LSM's Russian-language portal.
