Body found in quarry in Līvāni municipality

A dead person was recovered from a quarry in Turku parish, Līvāni municipality, on Friday, the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) told the LETA news agency.

Rescue service personnel were involved in retrieving the body from the quarry. After recovery, the deceased was handed over to State Police officers, who will investigate the circumstances of the case.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed, nor is it known how long the body may have been in the quarry. No information has been released about the possible cause of death or the circumstances that led the person to end up in the quarry.
