Police in Liepāja detained an intoxicated woman after viewers reported a TikTok livestream showing a crying baby in the background. Two children were placed with a crisis foster family.
Police in Liepāja this week received a report about a TikTok livestream showing a visibly intoxicated woman while a baby could be heard crying in the background.
Acting on the address provided by viewers who had seen the broadcast, officers went to the location and found the woman under the influence of alcohol. The home was found to be in unsanitary conditions.
Two children — aged six months and two years — were living at the same address. Both were removed from the home and placed with a crisis foster family, where they are now being cared for.
The case came to light thanks to social media users who noticed the disturbing content during the livestream and alerted police.
