Leão takes over Ronaldo's former No. 7 shirt for Portugal
After Cristiano Ronaldo's surprise departure from Portugal's national team camp, his long-held No. 7 jersey has been passed to Rafael Leão for the next two matches.

Portugal's national football team is undergoing changes after Cristiano Ronaldo announced he had left the squad's camp. The decision followed a match against Norway in which the experienced forward did not get any playing time. Ronaldo nonetheless wished the team and his teammates good luck for the upcoming matches.
Head coach Jorge Jesus addressed the situation, denying that there was any conflict between himself and Ronaldo.
A new shirt number holder
It has now become known that UEFA has confirmed Rafael Leão will wear Ronaldo's long-standing No. 7 shirt for the national team's next two matches. The number had long been closely associated with Ronaldo, but another squad member will now carry it.
Upcoming fixtures
Portugal will play their next Nations League match this evening, away against Denmark, with kickoff at 21:45. The team will close out this international window on October 4, hosting Norway at home.
