Latvia has handed a 23-year-old Latvian citizen, Dolārs Aleksanders, to law enforcement authorities in the United Kingdom. The man was detained in Latvia last month and has now been extradited.

British authorities suspect Aleksanders of dangerous driving linked to a road accident in which a 12-year-old boy lost his life. The exact circumstances of the crash, including its location and timing, have not been disclosed.

Details about his arrest in Latvia and the extradition process have also not been made public. The man is currently in the custody of UK authorities while the investigation continues.

Extradition in such cases follows established international legal procedures, allowing a country to transfer a person to another state where charges have been brought. Latvian authorities made the decision after completing the necessary formalities.

No further details are available at this stage, and officials have not commented on the case beyond confirming the handover. The investigation is ongoing.
