In 2025, the residents of Latvia spent significant amounts on travel – both domestic and international. Data compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSP) shows that total expenditure on day trips and overnight stays within Latvia and abroad reached €1.799 billion.

Of this amount, €1.3 billion was spent on trips abroad. This indicates a strong desire among Latvians to travel outside the country, despite economic conditions. In comparison, domestic tourism experienced a slight decrease last year, while the number of foreign trips increased.

Exact details about destinations or types of travel are not provided in the source, but the overall trend clearly shows that Latvians are increasingly choosing to spend money on international travel. The CSP data is based on surveys and statistics on tourism expenditure.
