During a Latvia national football team match, supporters in the stands used the occasion to voice a political message ahead of elections scheduled for the following day. Fans from the so-called H sector displayed a banner reading "Make the right choice," accompanying it with several raised symbols that had been crossed out — a sickle, an axe, and the flag of the aggressor state.

In the background, a legionnaires' song with anti-Soviet themes played during the display, reinforcing its message. Based on the symbols shown, the message appeared directed against Russia and left-wing political forces.

Social media reaction

The event quickly spread across social media, with several users sharing photos and videos from the stands. User Agris Suveizda posted on X, describing it as a call from the H sector to make the right choice in the elections, also noting the song playing in the background.

Another user, posting under the name ZutisKristaps, shared an image with the comment "Football, I like it." Meanwhile, user Krišjānis Kļaviņš wrote that Latvian football fans would not be voting for Russians or left-wing forces on October 3, expressing approval of the fans' action with words of respect, calling them "ours."

The display took place the day before elections set to be held in Latvia on October 3.
