Drone shot down over eastern Latvia; air threat eliminated

An air threat was detected in eastern Latvia early Friday morning. Allied fighter jets successfully shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle that entered Latvian airspace, ending the danger.

Early on Friday morning, an air threat was detected in eastern Latvia. According to the National Armed Forces (NAF), an unmanned aerial vehicle entered the country's airspace. Allied fighter jets responded immediately and successfully shot down the drone, ending the airspace threat.

NAF reported that the incident took place early on Friday. Allied fighters carried out the operation, downing the unmanned aircraft that had entered Latvian airspace. After the shootdown, the threat to the airspace was declared over. The NAF statement stressed that the danger ended with the downing of the drone.

The eastern part of Latvia is an area where airspace surveillance is especially important, and the allied forces demonstrated their ability to act quickly. According to the information released by NAF, the drone was shot down successfully and the airspace situation has returned to normal. The alert that was triggered in the early hours of Friday has been resolved, and NAF confirmed that the incident is closed.
