Humpback Whale Timmy Survived Only Five Days After Rescue in Baltic Sea
German authorities announced that the humpback whale named Timmy, stranded for over a month on the Baltic Sea coast, lived only five days after being rescued.

Till Backhaus, environment minister of the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, stated in a press conference that the humpback whale nicknamed Timmy, which had been stranded for more than a month on the Baltic Sea coast near Germany, survived only five days after its rescue. According to transmitter data, the whale died on May 6 or 7. The rescue operation had garnered extensive media attention, with many hoping for a successful return to the wild, but unfortunately the animal could not recover.
