First motorcycle orienteering event held in Kuldīga region
Motorcycle club Kumo organised its first orienteering ride on its first anniversary, attracting 53 participants. Roberts and Baiba from Saldus emerged as the winners.
Motorcycle club Kumo held its first motorcycle orienteering event last Saturday, coinciding with the club's first anniversary. Any rider with a road-legal and registered motorcycle could take part. Club president Juris Klints expressed satisfaction, saying the event had been very successful.
No prior registration was required, and 53 motorcyclists took part in the ride. The route included eight checkpoints across Kuldīga Municipality. Participants could choose to ride individually or in a group. The main task was not simply to find the checkpoints as quickly as possible, but above all to complete the tasks prepared at each checkpoint, as points were awarded specifically for completing those tasks.
Most checkpoints caused no difficulties, although a few participants failed to find Skrunda Manor based on the clues given. Roberts and Baiba from Saldus earned the highest number of points and became the winners. The organisers received many positive reviews from participants, who praised the chance to combine motorcycling with orienteering and various challenges, as well as the uplifting emotions they experienced during the day.
