Andris Kulbergs, the prime ministerial candidate for the "Apvienotais sarakts" (United List) party, said in an interview for LETA's podcast segment "Politiķi! Kas tas vispār bija?!" that anti-drone systems previously purchased for Latvia were never equipped with the necessary ammunition.

According to Kulbergs, the equipment itself had been acquired, but a key component required for its actual use was missing.

The interview was part of a LETA podcast segment in which current political issues are discussed with politicians and candidates for office.

The source report does not provide further details on the number of systems involved, when they were purchased, or which institutions were responsible.
