Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Solovyov has warned Russians that Ukraine is close to developing its own ballistic missiles, predicting Russian cities could face a fate similar to occupied Donetsk. The warning comes amid intensifying Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian territory.
Russian state television host and prominent Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Solovyov has publicly expressed concern that Ukraine is nearing the development of its own ballistic missile system, according to a report by Dialog.ua.
On his broadcast, Solovyov urged Russian viewers to prepare for possible consequences, comparing a future scenario to the current situation in occupied Donetsk and in Belgorod, where daily life has long been disrupted by the war. The propagandist also implicitly criticized Russia's official state propaganda, suggesting it has been misleading the public about the true seriousness of the situation.
Rising drone attacks
Reports indicate that Ukraine has recently intensified drone strikes on Russian territory, causing large fires at several oil refineries and other infrastructure sites, including warehouses belonging to the retail platform Wildberries.
Zelensky's warning
According to the news agency Reuters, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had earlier stated that Moscow would end up in flames if Russian attacks on Ukraine continue. Zelensky emphasized that Ukrainians never wanted this war, but if Ukraine burns, Moscow will burn too.
The Ukrainian president has called on Europe and the United States to tighten sanctions on Russia's defense and energy sectors in order to increase pressure on the Kremlin and force Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war. He stressed that now is the time for the international community to apply pressure, and that Russians themselves should also recognize the seriousness of the situation.
