Ten people killed and 34 injured in Russian attack on Kyiv

Russian forces launched an attack on the city of Kyiv during the night of 1-2 July, resulting in 10 deaths and 34 injuries. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, initially reported two fatalities, but the number escalated over time. Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the final toll: 10 dead, 34 injured, with 32 hospitalized and two treated at the scene.
Tkachenko stated that 28 locations across the city were impacted, mainly residential districts and civilian infrastructure. The attack involved drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles, as reported later.
Background: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned on 1 July that Russia was preparing a large-scale strike. The assault targeted not only Kyiv city but also Kyiv Oblast, where damage was recorded in five districts.
