Russian occupying forces carried out a drone attack on the city of Kiliya in Ukraine's Odesa region overnight into September 27, according to the Izmail District State Administration. The strike hit several port and civilian infrastructure facilities in the city.
According to preliminary information, there were no casualties from the attack. A fire that broke out at the strike site has already been extinguished.
Recent attacks on the region
The strike on Kiliya is the latest in a series of regular attacks on infrastructure in the Odesa region. Overnight into September 22, a Russian strike on Chornomorsk damaged a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse, destroying temperature-controlled storage rooms that held medical supplies.
Overnight into September 23, the Russian military struck a commercial cargo ship flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda in the Odesa region, which was transporting vegetable oil. The strike caused a fire on board, killing the ship's captain, a 63-year-old Ukrainian citizen.
Additionally, on Wednesday Russian forces struck warehouse complexes in the Odesa region twice, hitting facilities that stored medicine, food products and industrial goods, causing large-scale fires.
