Russian drones strike Kyiv overnight, one injured, high-rise damaged

Overnight on September 25, Russia carried out a drone attack on Ukraine's capital Kyiv, city mayor Vitali Klitschko reported. One person was injured in the attack and is receiving necessary assistance.

Damage in two districts

In the Solomianskyi district, drone debris fell on a 25-story residential building, reportedly striking around the fourth floor, according to preliminary information. Klitschko initially reported the debris had hit a non-residential building, but the Kyiv City Military Administration later clarified that a residential building was actually affected.

In the Podilskyi district, Russian forces damaged a non-residential building. In the Solomianskyi district, the drone's fall also sparked a fire in an open area near a non-residential building. Emergency services were dispatched to the scenes.

Timeline of the alert

An air raid alert was declared in Kyiv at 4:27 a.m. due to a missile threat, after the capital had already been placed under a drone-danger warning earlier. The all-clear was sounded at 5:14 a.m. During the attack, Klitschko warned residents that missile danger remained in the city.
