Russian drone hits Kyiv's Pivdennyi Bridge for third time in one day
Kyiv's Pivdennyi Bridge was struck by Russian drones three times in a single day, damaging the bridge structure and halting metro and surface public transport.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the city's Pivdennyi (South) Bridge was hit by Russian drones three separate times within one day, according to the mayor and local Telegram channels.
Morning strikes
Earlier in the day, two drones struck near the bridge's support structure. An initial inspection found no critical damage, allowing surface public transport across the bridge to resume.
Third strike causes damage
Later, a third drone strike hit the bridge's road surface. Klitschko said emergency services were dispatched to the scene. He subsequently updated the public, stating that early assessments showed the strike had damaged a bridge support, a crash barrier, the road surface, and a protective concrete barrier shielding the metro line beneath.
As a precaution, metro workers cut power to the metro tracks running near the bridge. Both metro services and surface public transport across the bridge have been suspended as a result.
It remains unclear how long transport disruptions will last or when a full damage assessment will be completed.
