Russia’s gasoline production dropped approximately 25% in the week of June 15–21 compared to the average daily output for June 2025, Reuters reported on June 23, citing industry sources. The Russian government is reportedly considering increasing fuel imports and introducing subsidies, according to the Russian business daily Vedomosti.

In recent weeks, authorities in many Russian regions, as well as in Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia, have imposed fuel sales restrictions following Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries. Gasoline prices have risen, and long queues have formed at gas stations.

Among the latest officials to announce restrictions was Vologda Governor Georgy Filimonov, who stated that Lukoil had imposed limits across the country, including in the region: no more than 30 liters of gasoline per person and no more than 60 liters of diesel fuel.
