Russia intensifies guided bomb strikes near Sumy; 10 civilians injured
Russian forces have stepped up attacks with guided aerial bombs on the outskirts of Sumy, injuring 10 civilians over the past day.
Escalation of attacks near Sumy
Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported that Russian forces have intensified strikes with guided aerial bombs (KAB) on the outskirts of the regional center. According to him, 10 civilians have been injured in the attacks over the past day.
Hryhorov noted a recent increase in the intensity of KAB strikes. Drone attacks on communities in Sumy region, particularly border areas, also continue.
Specific incidents
In Sumy city, around 4:00 PM, a KAB strike on the outskirts killed one civilian man and injured five others. A woman with a three-year-old child also sought medical help; the mother shielded the child during the explosion, and the girl sustained a limb injury. After receiving medical care, the child will be treated at home.
In the Sumy community, another woman was injured during a drone attack while she was in an open area. In the Trostianets community, two women were injured when a Russian drone struck a vehicle.
In the Znob-Novhorodske community, a drone hit a civilian car, injuring the driver. In the Velykopysarivka community, an explosive dropped from a drone injured a local resident, who was hospitalized.
