No missiles intercepted
Particularly concerning is that Ukrainian air defence forces were unable to down a single one of the incoming missiles this time. The main reason cited is a shortage of Patriot interceptor missiles — the system considered the only effective means of countering ballistic missiles in this type of attack.
The situation points to growing strain on Ukraine's ability to protect its population and infrastructure from regular Russian missile strikes, underscoring the continued importance of international support in the form of additional air defence equipment and ammunition.
