Russia Opens Criminal Case Against Meduza Journalist Vladislav Gorin
Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against Meduza journalist and podcast host Vladislav Gorin for allegedly participating in the activities of an “undesirable” organization.
Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against Vladislav Gorin, a Meduza journalist and host of the podcast "Chto Sluchilos’" ("What Happened"), on charges of carrying out the activities of an “undesirable” organization.
The case is based on six audio recordings published between August and November 2025, in which Gorin, according to the Investigative Committee, “disseminated informational materials about political and social processes taking place in the Russian Federation.”
Gorin, who is outside Russia, “continued to participate” in the activities of an organization designated as “undesirable,” the Investigative Committee said.
Moscow’s prosecutor’s office demanded that a criminal case be opened against Gorin on charges of carrying out the activities of an “undesirable” organization back in December 2025. A year earlier, a Moscow court fined Gorin 10,000 rubles under the administrative statute on participation in the activities of an “undesirable” organization.
