Russia discloses topics of talks between its finance minister and US counterpart at G20

Russia's Finance Ministry has officially confirmed that the country's finance minister, Anton Siluanov, met and held talks with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Asheville, North Carolina.
According to a ministry statement cited by the outlet "Європейська правда", the two officials discussed "issues of Russian-American cooperation in the financial sphere", as well as matters related to cooperation within the G20 format.
Journalists reported first
News of the meeting between the two ministers was first reported by several American journalists, and only later confirmed by the Russian side itself.
Criticism from Germany
Following reports of the meeting, German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil publicly criticized Siluanov's participation in the G20 finance ministers' gathering at all. Klingbeil said the presence of Russia's finance minister at such an event was a "rather alarming" signal.
